Khon Kaen - Center of North-East

Khon Kaen Province

Khon Kaen Province is the center of northeast region in Thailand which located 445 kilometers away from Bangkok. The province is commercial and education center of northeast. The province famous for its national park, flora,fauna and waterfalls. There is an airport in the province let it's easy to go to the province.

Some Attraction in Khon Kaen


Ubolratana dam - Ubolratana dam is the largest multi-purpose dam in the Northeast.

Bang Saen II and Hat Chom Thong - the quite lively beaches.

Prasat Pueai Noi - The old castle Pueai Noi is the largest Khmer sanctuary in the upper Northeast.

Phu Wiang National Park - one of famous National pak in Thailand.

Phu Pha Man National Park - This popular national park has millions of bats inside.

Hong Mun Mang or Khon Kaen City Museum - Biggest museum in Khon Kaen.

Tortoise Village - The villagers keep a large amount of tortoises.

Sala Mai Thai - The silk centre.

Yasothon and Thailand rocket festival


Yasothon Province

Yasothon Province is one of Thailand province located in the North-East of Thailand. Yasothon is famous for its Rocket Festival in May every year. Traditional local dance called "Peun Muang" join the parade at the annual rocket festival. The Thailand festival and parade takes place on Yasothon's main street.

The festival is held during every second weekend of May at Phaya Taen Park, with the initial objective to bolster harmony in each team. Yasothon people believe that the festival will please gods which create proper rain and prosperous food. Rockets joining the festival will be decorated beautifully with Thai traditional patterns. Rockets are judged by a committee and the respective winners take home with attractive prizes of competition.



Interesting in Yasothon Province


Maha That Temple - The Buddhist temple with Lao-style chedi located in Yasothon town. It's over 1,200 years old. It enshrines holy relics of Phra Ananda, Phra Kaeo Yod Nam Kang statue in attitude of meditation in Chiang Saen Art style.

Phaya Tan Park - The Park is the location for significant fairs and festivals of the province.

Phra That Kong Khao Noi - Has legend about Phra That Kong Khao Noi says "Young farmer has been working since dawn. At lunch, his mother came late with his lunch. He's hunger and sudden anger to see a little amount of rice after that he kills his mother. So, young farmer built this stupa, wishing for forgiveness and amend.
