Maruekhathaiyawan Palace





The Palcae located in Phetchaburi Province, 6 kilometers from Cha-am beach. The summer wooden palace was built on beachside in 1923 as a royal summer palace of King Rama VI, which using golden teakwood and it's Thai and Europe style that was designed by Italian architect. Name of Maruekhathaiyawan Palace has meaning of the palace of love and hope.





The palace has two-storeyed use as convention hall and long corridor leading to the sea. The right wing are the residential halls of royal family members and the left wing for royal retainers. The central group of halls consists of royal drawing, sitting and reading rooms. Open pavilion located next to the central hall was once used as a royal meeting place and theatre.
